After School Program (“Afters”)

The Muddy Creek afterschool program is a place where MCCS students can go to extend and enrich their school day. Our on-site after school program is a great alternative to other programs in town and gives families extra time to get here after work, run errands,etc.

  • All scheduled school days; only current MCCS students at this time.
  • Monday-Thursday, 3-5:30p
  • Fridays Only, 2-5:30p
  • All students must be picked up by 5:30.

School-employed adults will provide a healthy snack, tutoring opportunities, and supervised outdoor play as well as themed game, art, cooking, and STEAM days. Parents may check out their kiddos anytime as long as they are picked up by 5:30. Families will be charged $5/minute for late pick-up.

  • $300/month – all school days ($200/month for additional sibling rate)

Frequently Asked Questions

What will the snacks be?
Students will be provided with an independent but guided selection of snacks in a bin or cart daily. These will look like fruits,veggies,nuts,whole grains and the like. We will be asking students to select at least one fruit/veggie and an additional item. Fridays students will use the extra time to complete a cooking project which can be eaten as or in addition to snack.

Where do we pick up our kids?
Students being picked up PRIOR to 5:00 can be picked up at the side gym door/playground.
Students after 5:00 can be found on the picnic benches near the front of the school.

Who can pick up my child?
You will designate the people who are allowed to pick up your child from ASP. We will check IDs of all adults so please have them ready every day. This is for the safety of your child, please don’t yell at the staff member.

How does ‘Drop-In’ work?
Not everyone wants or needs a five day afterschool program! We want families to have the flexibilty to choose which days work best for them. In those cases, you can have your kiddo drop in one or more days a week. If you utilize the drop in program we will still need you to pay the $35 registration fee and complete our registration forms. Note: non-ASP students who aren’t picked up from school by 3:15 will automatically be “dropped-in” to the ASP until guardian arrives and will be charged the daily fee.

How will we pay?
Attendance to the afterschool program is tracked using a spreadsheet. We will send out electronic invoices to families monthly on the 20th. If you pay monthly/fridays only: you will pay a flat monthly fee for your student(s) and an automatic invoice will be generated each cycle. If you do daily or drop in: you will pay per session in an invoice billed to you. Payments should be made with a credit/debit card.

Can other families still play afteschool?
Yes! Students who play with parents after school are welcome to continue to do so but will be under their pickup’s supervision – Not the ASP. Students in the ASP will not be able to engage in any behaviors on the playground or in the facility that are prohibited during recess at school. Families who stay to play will also be asked not to use our equipment and unless they are registered will not be able to have snack or participate in activities.

What does a ‘normal’ day look like?
3:00-3:30 playtime outside or homework help/IDR 
3:30-4:00 snack 
4:00-5:00 activity 
5:00-5:30 clean up wrap up, dismissal 

Friday times will be adjusted to accomodate the extra hour. Activities will include daily themes like games, arts & crafts, construction,science, cooking etc.
