Food Drive and Helping in our Community
Our 3rd grade class organized a school-wide food drive to help the people in our community who are less fortunate this winter season.
In true place-based fashion they identified a need (poverty in our area), did research on the problem (food insecurity, houselessness), crafted a plan (food/mitten/sock drive), and then extended their work outside of the classroom (field trip to the South Corvallis Food Bank).
They even took it a step further and presented their work at the all-school assembly this morning so all the students and families could deepen their understanding of their work and our community. Great job Muskrats!
