PLEASE BE AWARE OF OTHER DRIVERS DURING AFTER-SCHOOL PICK-UP
We’ve been having a long line of cars at pickup that have interfered slightly with the flow of traffic from Bellfountain. If your child is not outside at the time of pickup, please consider parking. Also, please be aware that larger vehicles in the line of traffic can block cars that are trying to come into the lot to park. If you are waiting in line, please stay on the right side. Thanks!

PLANT SALE
May 10 -11, 11:45 to 3:30pm
This is a collaborative project across the school in which the 4/5 class is partnering with the Kinders and the 1/2/3 classes to do a MCCS Plant Sale.
The 4/5 students are the CEOs and managing the business. They have been working on some advertisements for the sale and calling to see if different business would want to donate plants. The business name the students came up with is “Kids Grow”.
The kinders and grades 1/2/3 math students will grow plants for the sale. Save a spot in your garden or on your porch to plant one of our special plants!
Volunteers to supervise the 4/5 graders are needed. Thanks.
News update: The PTO was considering having a school wildlife art show this year, unfortunately the school schedule is will not accommodate another event. We hope to have an annual art show starting in 2012-13. Please contact the PTO if you would like to be involved in helping to organize this event. We will still have some of the MCCS art on display on the day of the Wildlife Summit which is open for public viewing from 2:30 to 4pm, May 17th.
WILDLIFE STEWARDS SUMMIT
May 17th, 9am-2pm, with public viewing of posters from 2:30 until 4pm.
Our school is hosting the annual 4-H Wildlife Stewards Conference on May 17th. The event will bring students from any elementary school in the Corvallis/Philomath area that participates in the Wildlife Stewards program. The students research a topic related to wildlife in their schoolyard and work to improve the habitat. Our school’s big Wildlife Stewards project is the RESTORE area in our field. Subjects such as macroinvertebrates and invasive species will be discussed during Summit sessions. This is the 10th year for the Summit and it is an honor for Muddy Creek to be hosting. The mayor should be dropping by and the event will be covered by the Gazette.
MCCS BOOK FAIR
The MCCS Annual Book Fair is coming up the week of May 21-25. Last year it was a huge success. We will be “open” 8:15-9am and 2:45-3pm each day.
